Grove Road Community Primary School

School Information

Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to the website for Grove Road Community Primary School.

Grove Road is a school that provides a unique and exciting place to learn; offering a warm, nurturing and fully inclusive environment to serve our local community – something we have been doing successfully since 1897!

At Grove Road, we aim to provide education of the highest quality so that our young learners can thrive and fulfill their potential in life. We pride ourselves on ensuring that all children become happy, confident leaners by helping them to grow socially, emotionally and academically.

We are an Enhanced Mainstream School - this means that our staff team is supplemented by highly specialised and skilled professionals who support children throughout Harrogate schools who have social, emotional and mental health needs.

Additionally, we are a Minority Ethnic Achievement Hub School and School of Sanctuary. The MEA hub offers an outreach service for primary and secondary schools across the Harrogate and Craven district to support them in meeting the needs of Refugee, EAL and GRT learners.

This website, with its photos, children’s work, quotes, Twitter and news updates, should give you a picture of life at Grove Road, but do please come and see the school at work and discover how your child could thrive here.

At the heart of our school lies its ethos.

We value Relationships and Equality for all,
we place great value in high Standards,
we are Positive and Enthusiastic,
we think about the Choices we make, and throughout all of this we work closely Together.
All in all, this adds up to our RESPECT Code.
